Sister Joan Pendergraft and Maureen are Trying to Assemble an Entire Church History for Oasis Missionary Baptist Church
We have a lot of Information... but we have Gaps in the 1970's and early in the formation of the Church.
If you know of any Founding Members... or even if you were a child when
your family was involved with our Church in the 1960's and 1970's...
We are Mostly Interested in the History of the Members... so Please

Our Sunday School and the Entire Church always works Hard for ''Relay for Life''
It is our Biggest Single Non-Profit Effort as a Church and I would like to thank all of you for your hard work for this cause. Cancer has certainly touched the lives of everyone... both inside and outside of the Church... To "Find a Cure", Eradicate or even Minimize the Suffering of people and their families when someone is affected with Cancer is certainly a Worthy Goal.
"Relay for Life" is already upon us for 2010. Be sure to come and Help Setup this Friday night. The Relay runs from Sat. at 9am to Sun. at 9 am and we will need plenty of volunteers who are ready to walk for 24 hours, in order to Raise Funds for Cancer Research, Ministry, etc...

Our Church won the "Paint the Town Purple" award (way to go)!!!
Thanks to all who signed up to participate.
All donations went to this worthy cause for cancer sufferers.

Our Church Suppers have been a great time for all...
(with great food --- can't wait for next Sunday)
More Events are coming up, so be ready.
We have another pot-latch planned for next Sunday (this is becoming a wonderful tradition)
Acts 2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Great Loss:
Continue Prayer for Brandy Sara (Joan's granddaughter) and her family. Her husband Mike passed away due to overwhelming bodily trauma as a result of a motorcycle accident.
(She is still having a rough time with money - along with many of us who are struggling in this economy, but we didn't recently lose our spouse, and second income)
As we attempt improvements at the Church-
We finally have adequate seating for those who are physically challenged (Praise God)
Pray for God's direction as we attempt to use His blessings to further the Gospel of Christ.

Prayer Requests:
* Robert has been approved for Deacon-ship, will try to speed up ordination process.
* Everyone has been Absolutely Slammed by our current Economy- Pray for Jobs, Work, Sales, etc...
*The Economy- and the effect it is having on our wallets and the Church Offerings.
Although we Know that we Need Not Worry... As long as we seek God's Kingdom first, He Promises to Provide our Needs (but some of us still complain about the lack of our Desires... Just keep in mind that God also Promises to Reward Our Desires, if we will "Delight ourselves in Him").
*Our Politicians (Our Governing Leaders and the Nature of Terror throughout the World).
*Each Other- That we will continue to Grow in Spirit and in Truth, as well as in number.
* Maureen has not been physically well- please pray for her daily
* Our Men and Women in the Armed Forces
* We need to support & pray for our U.S. President... especially if we do not entirely Agree with his Methods and Agenda
* Please pray for pastor's work at the store, it has been a tough year and a very big trial of Faith! In forty years I have never seen it this bad - Hardly any sales!
--- Since work is so slow and our Church is growing so fast, Call me for any need and I will make myself available, especially after 1 pm
* There are so many needs to list- but God knows them all...
(He knows our Heart's desires)

We need your news, Information, etc... We need to update all information on Members & Visitors; we need names, addresses, E-Mail, birthdays... any and all info you can give us.
We also need as much information as you can give us on each church member and visitor as you can assemble for us to put into the church database... this will help us minister more effectively - We need EMAIL Addresses, bithdates, addresses, phone numbers; and any other info that you can give. If you can take a few minutes to send in your families info, you can email it in the form below or bring it to church with you.
